This team worked so hard to pull this shoot together last August and I couldn’t be more excited with the end result. (It was the hottest day of the summer and we were outside setting up + shooting this set almost the entire day! Talk about exhausting!)
Some notes on the inspiration:
Inspired by the lavender fields of Provence, France, this styled shoot was designed to immolate the same beautiful aesthetic and landscape of Provence in our home state of Pennsylvania. Chosen for it’s beautiful architecture and neutral stone palette, Hartwood Acres was the perfect location to bring this vision to life. It’s stunning 1929 Tudor mansion, English style garden and acres of well-manicured grounds will sweep it’s visitors away and place them in a 19th century city.
With a love for fine-art design, I purposely kept the palette neutral and complemented it with stone and wood accents to replicate the landscape around us. I chose to repeat the same flower throughout the design to highlight it’s simplicity and classic beauty, and to stimulate the guests’ senses, making them feel as if they were in the middle of the never-ending lavender fields in Provence. It’s important to note that the Larkspur and greenery were entirely American-grown.
I also chose to feature an organic and un-touched aesthetic throughout our design by choosing a Dan Jones dress with a beveled lace neckline, a simple and modern floating cake with gold beveled edges, and beveled-edge paper complete with mansion-esque art and fine-art calligraphy to pull this old-world feel to the forefront on our stationary.
