Bright and Ethereal Wedding Inspiration | Pittsburgh Wedding Planner

Recently featured on Ruffled Blog, this Bright and Ethereal Wedding Editorial deserves to be shared over and over again. It screams with color, texture, joy, and natural light. I’m thrilled to have partnered with so many talented Pittsburgh Wedding Vendors and design in a new Pittsburgh Wedding Venue, Energy Innovation Center for this shoot.

Inspired by the textures of the Palm Springs Desert and endless poppy fields in Antelope Valley, this bright and ethereal wedding editorial is the perfect blend of a modern meets feminine fine art aesthetic. With Southern California destinations being the main source of inspiration for our designs, it was necessary to shoot in a venue with floor to ceiling windows, allowing the natural light and sunshine to create a bright and ethereal atmosphere. Abbie Fuller, of Abbie Tyler Photo, captured the romantic essence so beautifully with her Contax 645. The soft and romantic glow in her film images contrasts so well with the clean lines and modern architecture of the venue.

Shades of terra-cotta color found in the Palm Springs Desert were used throughout the entire design. From the place cards and seating chart to the stationary and compotes, terra-cotta tiles were purposefully incorporated to soften the modern architecture of the venue and evoke the same organic and natural vibe of the desert.

Also inspired by a famed SoCal destination, the Antelope Valley Poppy Fields, the assortment of brightly colored florals and delicate poppy arrangements invite the viewer to feel the coming of warmer months and the new growth that follows in spring and summer. May Chester does an incredible job of blending textures and varying size blooms in her arrangements and this display of work was nothing short of incredible.

The final product of blending the natural beauty of these two SoCal hot spots with a modern twist exceeded all of our expectations. The end result? A colorful and feminine editorial for the modern bride.

From Ruffled, “Honestly we never would’ve guessed that this gorgeous and colorful SoCal inspired wedding styled shoot was actually held in Pittsburgh’s Energy Innovation Center.
